HOW TO AVOID THE HOUSEPLANT GRAVEYARD

It might be halloween, but some things are best left out of your spooky decor. This time of year can be hard on your houseplants, so here are our top tips for keeping things green.

1. GET LIT

That slightly shady corner might be fine for your plant April to September, but with less hours of daylight your plants will thank you for finding a sunnier spot for them.

2. GLOW UP

Another way you can make sure your plants are getting all the light they can is to give your leaves a good clean. Remove dust and wipe them with a soft damp cloth.

3. DON'T SWEAT IT

The radiator might be your best friend, but it's not your plants. Rapidly changing temperatures can shock your plant or dry dormant leaves out, so make sure they're not too close and are enjoying ambient temperatures only.

4. JUST WATER FOR ME PLEASE

Most houseplants go dormant for autumn and winter and won't need extra nutrients, so it's time to put the plant food away. They'll also need less water, so gradually cut your watering down to about half of what you do over summer.
