So, we don’t know our feng-shui (yet) but we do know our plants; from many years of shacking up in damp basements, draughty flats and just gaffs with too many bodies in, we’ve learnt which plant will thrive and combat each problem in your gaff. You’re welcome.

First room to tackle…

THE BATHROOM

These fellas like it hot and steamy so don’t get over excited on the watering, they’re knockin’ back that steam like there’s no tomorrow:

DRACENA

BOSTON FERN

ZZ PLANT

SPIDER PLANT

ALOE VERA

HANGING PHILODENDRON

HOW NOT TO KILL IN THE BATHROOM

Don’t forget plants need light and air too - make sure they get it. A classic ‘frosted’ bathroom window is perfect as it mimics the dappled light of the tree canopy - like the rainforest where most of this crew came from.

BATHROOM BENEFITS

If you’ve got a bit of sunburn then apart from a slap on the wrist, lob off an Aloe Vera leaf and squeeze it all over ya sore bits.

Your bathroom still a bit muggy even though you’ve had that window open for hours after that shower? Shove a Boston Fern in there, in the 80’s NASA put this plant through its paces and it came out as the best plant for purifying air in sealed environments. (We’ve all got one mate)
