Difficulty Rating:

Bit of a toughy.

The Deets:

Beautiful little rows of peas.  This one of our best sellers. Firstly, it’s a succulent (the pearls store water in them) so watch the watering. Too much and it goes mushy and mouldy. There’s no doubt it looks striking, the pearls sprawl over the sides of the pot and it looks great hanging from a macrame hanger or windowsill.

Pot Size: 8-10.5cm

How Not to Kill Your String of Pearls.

Even though it is pretty relaxed when it comes to drought, it does not like being cold. You’ll know if it’s feeling chilly if the leaves drop off. Make sure that the temperature isn’t less than 45 degrees and place it where it is exposed to cold air.

Back To The Roots.

First, it’s a succulent so watch the watering. Too much and it goes mushy and mouldy. Remember, these desert plants survive long periods without water. In fact, their clever pearl-ball-water-storage allows it to be watered thoroughly one week and then pretty much forgotten the next week or two. Water even less in winter. Like most succulents, these guys love bright light. Giving your String of Pearls a haircut to keep it nice and tidy is easy to do. Trim off any dead stems and pearls, and any stems that have lost a lot of their beads. Even though it is pretty relaxed when it comes to drought, it does not like being cold. You’ll know if it’s feeling chilly if the leaves drop off. Make sure that the temperature isn’t less than 45 degrees and place it where it is exposed to cold air.
