BULB BABIES

Words by Jessica Peace

If you’ve had your bulbs for three or more years they’ll have been making babies in the soil, it’s our job to yank them out  so we can make MORE.

You can can divide daffodils, winter aconite, grape hyacinth and crocus - they are actually not ‘bulbs’ they’re ‘corms’ but same applies!

Wait for your green stems to get all knackered and floppy, this means they’ve flowered, grabbed the sun’s energy and now they’re clocking off for another year.

Yank out your bulbs and separate your little ones with a sharp blade or knife.

Give ‘em their new gaffs.

Want MORE ways to make plant babies? Lot’s in Nik’s book.
