Chelsea in Bloom 2026 x Rixo

When Chelsea in Bloom announced this year’s theme as “Out of This World,” we immediately knew we wanted to create something immersive, emotional and slightly surreal. At Grace & Thorn, we’ve always been drawn to designs that feel untamed and atmospheric rather than overly polished and partnering with RIXO for their King’s Road store gave us the perfect canvas to explore that idea on a cosmic scale 🪐

From the beginning, we wanted the installation to feel like stepping into another dimension. Not space in the literal sense, but a dreamscape inspired by celestial energy, astrology, movement and colour. RIXO’s world already has this beautifully nostalgic, bohemian spirit to it, so the challenge became creating something that felt both otherworldly and unmistakably aligned with their identity.

Rather than designing a traditional floral façade, we approached the installation almost like a living fashion editorial. We layered flowers with texture and motion in mind, allowing blooms to spill and twist organically across the storefront as though they were floating through space. Deep burgundy and plum tones sat alongside flashes of softer cosmic colour, while sculptural elements created shape and drama against the architecture of the shopfront.

The installation process itself was intense, exhilarating and completely worth the time invested. Seeing people stop on King’s Road to photograph the display, stare up at the details and genuinely engage with the work reminded us why events like Chelsea in Bloom are so special.

Collaborating with RIXO felt especially meaningful because both of our brands share a love of individuality, maximalism and storytelling through aesthetics. Their fashion celebrates colour, femininity and vintage-inspired glamour, while our floristry often leans into the wild, romantic and slightly unexpected. Bringing those worlds together felt incredibly natural, thank you to the team 💕
