COME ON AND COURGETTE

Words by Jessica Peace

Summer is here, what can we plant - that we won’t kill... The courgette! Easy going, big on producing the goods, you can do’em in a container, and their flower is RAD - ooh keep talking...

Grab your seeds.

You can plant outside now summer is here, or if you’re hungry to get you hands on that little zucchini you can start on your windowsill.

Dig your hole a spit deep (length of your spade mate) or grab a container or sack about 45cm wide and add a good peat free compost.

Shove in your seed and watch those courgettes go - they’re heavy drinkers, keep that watering can coming especially when you start to see your veg. Avoid shaking your water over the leaves and stem to keep’em from catching anything nasty.
