FLORAL SAFARI
Meet Geoff and Doris the Giraffes - our G&T nod to floral safari for this year's Chelsea in Bloom competition.
For those not in the know, this competition run by RHS and Cadogan sees the streets of Chelsea transformed into floral masterpieces for the whole week of Chelsea Flower Show. Each company picks their fave floral artist to decorate their windows and this year we won the pitch to decorate Paule Ka's front windows with our safari themed designs.
Working with the amazing Pollen Crew (shout out to Paul and his team battling through a studio wide tummy bug to go above and beyond to help us), we constructed two GINORMOUS steel mesh giraffe's to sit in each window - pic of our Jack for scale below:
The structures were so beautiful we only thought it right (and much more eco friendly using moss rather than foam) to follow the lines of the sculpture which naturally created Geoff and Doris' unique patterned coat.
Using a mixture of natural moss, Chrysanthemums, Protea and Leucadendron, we blended safari colours with natural African flowers to create our safari scene and lead you through to Paule Ka's incredible floral dresses inside. While Geoff and Doris' hooves are sitting pretty inside nesting in African grasses, their necks come through the window to munch on the foliage draped over the doorway (no mean feat - thanks again Paul!). Check out the video of the installation:
Having won the People's Choice award for our entry at LK Bennet in 2013 (thanks very much) - we'd love to take this prize again as it means you really like us and that's really nice.
