Now’s the time to get out your ferns out and make some babies...

MAKING MORE

Lift your fern from its pot or bed.

Knock off the soil from the roots.

Split the root ball into halves or quarters; you can do this by teasing the roots apart or getting out the bread knife - just make sure your root clump has fronds/ leaves on it.

Congrats, you’ve just given birth to your fern babies.

Give your children a bit of extra love, toss some gravel in for drainage - no soggy bottoms; add some organic matter for nutrients - they’ll be hungry; and give’ em a large drink.
