Its nickname is the ‘butterfly bush’ for a start. The buddleja has gotten itself a bad rep, people are sick of seeing them bursting at the edges of train tracks and rubbish dumps - not us, because where there is buddleja there is insect life!

If you really can’t stand the standard purple Buddleja (GUILTY…), don’t run off too quickly they come in white, pinks, blues and if you’re into your psychedelica try Buddleja ‘Flower Power’ - it’ll blow your mind.
