PLANT PORN: ROSE HIP

Roses, man. They've been keeping us going all summer long with their big, blousy blooms and heavenly floral scent. But they don't stop there, oh no. The temperatures are falling and the leaves are dropping, enter the rose hip.

SPOT IT

Once the petals have fallen, these shiny little red jewels will be peppering your hedgerows and planted gardens all autumn long. There's lots of red berries about this time of year, so if you're not certain check for thorny branches to be sure.

WHAT TO DO WITH IT

Rose hip is a staple to any autumnal arrangement. Whether your rose hip is round and juicy on a thick sturdy stem, or dainty little berries on long, elegant branches, it'll bring instant seasonal charm. It also dries beautifully, so keep it on hand for Christmas too.

You can also eat it! Rose hip syrup is a long time foragers fave.
