Sprouting about

Words by Jessica Peace

Grab yourself a jar and some sprouting seeds.

Apart from the sweet joy of growing these tiny wonders, they are rammed full of the good stuff: protein, iron, vitamins…

WHAT ARE WE GROWING?

Think posh salads and smoothies: wheatgrass, aduki beans, mung beans, spelt grain, alfalfa seeds, lentils…

THE GENERAL RULES?

Fill your jar up about a quarter with seed and top up the rest with water; leave overnight somewhere dark. In the morning drain the water and shove them back; then water and drain them two to three times a day.

Continue this kind of lovin’ until your sprouts are ready to eat.
