Winter Herbs

Words by Jessica Peace

You can still pick some herbs over winter for your roast spuds...

GENERAL RULES

Put the watering can down, raise them off the floor and give’em shelter; this is no time for soggy bottoms or frosted tips. Cut lightly and be wary of frosty window.

STILL CROPPING

Rosemary, Mint, Parsley and Bay are a bunch of bruisers, you can leave them
outside.

Sage and Thyme will need protection so provide shelter, a wall or a bit of bubble wrap or bring’em in.

Basil, best bring it in, cut from the top not the sides and avoid watering in the
evening as the roots will feel the cold over the night. Brrrrrr.
