It might be a bit Grinch to bang on about it now but here’s a few ethical ways to get rid of your tree that you might want to get organised...

KERB DUMP

This is the easiest option, most councils will now collect your trees in January. Just check the dates and get it dragged out and waiting in time.

TREE - ECO WARRIOR

New Year road trip? You could strap your tree to the bonnet and get it to a Christmas tree upcycling project. That tree that’s been hangin’ loose in your front room all December is now being used in sea defences, sand dune protection and safety barriers.

MAKE SWEET MULCH

The acidity in pine needles makes for a lovely acid mulch (stuff to smear over your beds). Just be warned this stuff is intense, keep it away from your alkali lovers, they won’t thank you for any spillages.
