Great for lush, flowing borders and will grow and grow if left unchecked. In fact, bamboo is the fastest growing plant on the PLANET - pretty impressive huh? Where some trees can take over 30 years to reach maturity, bamboo gets there in a matter of months, it's even been recorded as growing a whole metre in 24 hours!

Its speedy growth is one of the reasons many people are turning to it as an alternative material for everything from socks to ceiling fans!

As well as being fast growing, it is pretty much pest free and will regrow from cut stems, meaning it requires much less intensive farming than some alternatives.
