SUPERSTYLING - PLANT STYLING WITH G&T

For the first time at Chlesea Flower Show this year, houseplants have had a whole area dedicated to them. If it's got you all inspired to expand your green gang, here are some of our top styling tips to create your very own home jungle.

MIX IT UP

Your green gang should be more than just green. It should be different shades of green, purples, pinks, silvers, blues, whites, yellows - and that's just the leaves! The best collections of houseplants will have an array of colour, but also textures and leaf shapes, with flowering and non-flowering plants to boot.

KNOW YOUR ROOTS

No matter what your plant looks like, make sure you know its name. This will help you get to know your new plant pal. Find out where it is native too, what conditions it likes and if there's anything to be wary of like pests or seasonal changes.

LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION

Once you know your roots, you'll know what your plant is used to. Finding a spot that can mimic these conditions is vital if your plant is going to thrive. The obvious things are light, airflow and temperature, but also consider access to them - can you water them easily? Can you walk by without knocking over? Once you've got this down you can start finessing the display.

POTTY FOR POTS

Call us snobs, but that plastic brown nursery pot is simply not doing your plant justice. Not only does a proper pot look a million times better, repotting will improve the health of your plant and make caring for it much easier. We've got loads to choose from to suit any style.

JUNGLE IS MASSIVE

We may be biased, but there's no such thing as too many houseplants. More is more. Layering your plants looks really impactful, but they do genuinely like hanging out together - studies have shown that plants in close proximity to others tend to do better than those sat by themselves - our hands our tied!

Feeling tempted? We've got you.
